Ultrasonic Point level switches are devices used for high or low liquid level detection of chemical, solvent, or low viscosity petroleum-based liquids. It is suitable for hazardous environments, with a CSA approval for use in such locations. The switch operates by emitting high-frequency sound waves that bounce off the liquid surface and back to the sensor. The time taken for the sound wave to return is used to calculate the distance from the liquid surface to the sensor. The ultrasonic level switch is submersible and comes with a PP or PFA Teflon® sensor and cable suitable for use with corrosive liquids. It has a 60VA SPST relay output that can be selected as either normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) via power supply wiring polarity. The switch can be connected to a PLC or relay controller and is compatible with Smart Trak and Switch-Pak installation fittings. The ultrasonic level switch is suitable for use in a range of industries, including chemical, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical, where it can be used for level detection and monitoring of liquids such as hydrochloric acid, acetone, and diesel fuel oil. It has a high accuracy of ± 1mm in water and repeatability of ± 0.5mm in water, making it a reliable option for liquid level detection.
