About Us

Karma Instrumentation & Control offers the right product for the right application.

Karma Instrumentation & Control is a specialist supplier of process control and automation equipment and SI systems, as well as a manufacturer and designer of process and electrical control panels.

Richard Georg Mayr started his career in 1978 studying Process Control and Automation and completed his Engineering Diploma in 1982. In his earlier years Richard worked for some well-known International German Companies (Hartmann & Braun, P.C.I, Siemens), before starting his first business venture specialising in Heating and Temperature Control in 1994 (Thermacon Manufacturing).

His career and knowledge grew immensely in the Process Control and Automation field whilst working for these multinationals, which in turn enabled Richard to move into the upper management structures within those organisations. This facilitated Richard’s opportunities to further his studies in the financial and management fields. In 1988 Richard completed his UNISA SBL Management Development Programme (Cum Laude) which spearheaded his career to reach top management within Hartmann & Braun.

Richard worked several more years with a Heating Specialist Company (Director of Unitemp) adding immense value and growth to its sales. After working more than 12 years in the Heating and Temperature related sector Richard decided to move back into the field of Process Control and Automation in 2012. Richard subsequently partnered with Herbert Karolius from Atlas Industrial Systems to start Karma Instrumentation and Control.

Richard is a member of many organisations and societies namely SAIMC, BOCET, SAIEE, SAIETE, EPSE and SAIRA. Richard is actively involved with many of these societies and drives the processes involved in training within his own company and that of customers.
