Tape Extension Sensors are directly attached to the moving object with the measuring tape from the sensor. The measuring process is very similar to Cable Extension Sensors where the unwinding, linear movement to angular movement is captured and converted into an electrical output signal for standard interfaces. Measurements range up to 20 000 mm and have a nearly unlimited life cycle along with being extremely robust against low dirt wear and high linearity due to electronic linearization (up to 0,05%). With a narrow axial design and an integrated dust wiper, the Tape Extension Sensor is best suited for pulley applications, hostile environments and mobile working machines.
