Valve manifolds are used in industrial applications for regulating and controlling the flow of fluids. They come in different designs, such as the 2-way, 3-way and 5-way valve manifolds. These manifolds provide excellent flow regulation and leak tightness, and their operation is smooth, easy, low-torque and long-lasting. The internal surfaces and threads are free from burrs and other foreign particles. Many of the options available with needle valves are also available in a manifold form. The valves in a manifold are usually identified by colour-coded tags: red for isolate, green for equalise and yellow for vent. Manifolds can have plugs on gauge valves as standard, but it’s optional for all others. The end connections are typically 1/2 ” NPT(F), and the pressure rating is usually 6000 PSI as standard. The valve manifolds are manufactured with different design options for spindle tips, seats, packing, patterns, temperature range and lubrication/sealant. They can be made available to conform to NACE MR-01-75 for sour service. Valve manifolds can also have special/optional key features, such as valves with Non-Rotating Tip Stem (NRT) or needle valves, which provide tight, repeatable shutoff without the galling or cross-scoring that occurs on V & ball-type stems.
