Suitable for linear position measurement and challenging environment conditions, the Magnetic Scale Sensor uses a high-resolution magnetic position measuring system for measuring lengths up to 30 000 mm with no contact. Consisting of a magnetic measuring strip and a non-contact magnetoresistive scanning head, it is periodically magnetized with magnetic north and south poles. Position can be captured by sampling sinusoidal magnetic fields above the magnetic measuring lead. Other advantages include simple installation and adjustments, dirt resistance, shield metal housing, standard quadrature encoder interface and a protection class up to IP67.
